A Local’s Guide to Eating Out in Trearddur Bay
Trearddur Bay isn’t just about the stunning beaches and walks. Its dining scene is full of local gems, cosy spots and family-friendly pubs. Here’s a quick guide to the best places to grab a bite, a drink or just relax while taking in the views. All are within easy walking distance.
The Driftwood
Great for catching sports on the telly, offering solid pub food at good value. A casual, friendly spot if you want a proper meal without the fuss.
Lola’s
A charming spot run by locals, perfect for a snack, coffee or a glass of wine. Sit back and enjoy views over the bay while soaking up the relaxed vibe - keep an eye out for evening entertainment.

Farrel's
Next door to Cwtch y Môr at the end of drive, Farrel's has slot machines, a pool table and fun for kids for the kids. They also serve bar snacks and have a summer entertainment schedule including quiz nights and karaoke. A lively option for families.
Trearddur Bay Hotel / Inn at the Bay
With a restaurant and pub serving meals, while the outdoor kiosk in the beer garden offers pizza and snacks. With a playground for kids and right opposite the beach, it’s a convenient stop after a day by the sea.
Sea Shanty
A middle-priced favourite offering good food and a comfortable atmosphere. Great for lunch or dinner with friends or family.

The Stores
This pizza and wine spot is a little on the pricey side, but has a lovely outdoor bar tucked into the dunes, perfect for sunset drinks.
Little Indian
Bright interiors and snug booths. The seating is very upright and tight on larger tummies, so take-out is recommended if you want comfort.
The Seacroft
On the other side of the bay with outdoor seating areas and reasonable food at moderate prices. We personally prefer the Sea Shanty, but it’s great to walk to across the beach.
Oceans Edge
A stylish but pricier option with great views, right on the beach. Best for a leisurely meal - service can be slow if you’re in the bar area or terrace and wanting a drink!

Licenced to Grill
If you fancy something a little different during your stay, the popular Licence to Grill right on the sand at Porth Dafarch Beach. You can enjoy freshly grilled burgers, seafood and other tasty bites while taking in the sea views. Perfect after a coastal walk or a day in the water, it’s a laid-back spot to eat with your feet in the sand and watch the sunset over the bay. Check their Facebook page for info on the specials!

Scarlets Fish and Chips
If you want to chance the seagulls and have your lunch on the front in Trearddur Bay, Scarlet's take out is in the village. Personally I find the food hit and miss, overpriced and portions small. For proper chips or Chinese takeout, my go-to is The Angel in Holyhead, opposite Asda.
Many of these places are popular with both visitors and locals, especially in peak season and on weekends. For drinks, lunch or dinner, it’s best to book in advance where possible.
